The powerful song of love, reaching fluidly beyond the boundaries.

A musical actor, a jazz vocalist, a composer, and a poet, Lee Lina draws a welcoming, flexible line in her first poetry collection, Starting My Love. This line lets the poet feel that “you” is outside “I,” and the possibility of a connection between the two. She sings “a song called love that I take bites into when hungry”(from “The Private Matters of Anxiety”) for “you” on the other side of the line.
